The RDS supports researchers to develop and design high quality research proposals for submission to national, peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health or social care research – with particular focus on NIHR Research Programmes.

The NIHR’s main priority is to make sure that funding for research is focused where it is needed and provides quality outputs and value for money through a totally transparent and accountable system.

To ensure that your research project is submitted to the most appropriate funding stream, it is important to be aware of the eligibility and scope criteria of each stream.

The RDS can help you identify an appropriate funding programme and also provide advice on how to prepare your application.
