For patients, carers, service users, voluntary groups and third sector organisations
How can I, or my group or organisation, get involved?
There are many ways in which patients, carers, service users, voluntary groups and third sector organisations can get involved with the work of the Research Design Service for Yorkshire and the Humber. We are always interested to hear from individual people, groups and organisations keen to work with NHS staff and researchers to develop ideas into research proposals and grant applications.
There are 3 main ways that you could get involved:
1. You could help develop research proposals and grant applications:
If you, or your group or organisation, is interested in getting involved in developing research proposals with researchers and NHS staff, please let us know.
2. You could become a member of the Research Design Service’s Patient and Public Involvement Forum:
The Research Design Service has a Patient and Public Involvement Forum to guide the work that we do in encouraging researchers to involve patients and the public when designing their research and writing their grant applications. If you would be interested in joining, or finding out more about, the Patient and Public Involvement Forum, please let us know.
3. You could suggest an idea for a research project:
If you have an idea for a research project that will have real patient benefit or would improve NHS services, we may be able to put you in touch with clinical and research teams with similar interests to develop the idea further. Please let us know about your idea. Please be aware however that your idea may not end up being developed further. This may be because: the research has been done before or is currently being carried out; the idea is unlikely to attract sufficient interest from funders; or that there are no appropriate sources currently available to fund research into the idea.
If you are interested in getting involved, or would just like further information, please fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you.
