Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP): offers critical appraisal skills training, workshops and tools.
Cochrane Library: systematic reviews of primary research in health care and health policy.
Heath Research Authority (HRA): their remit is to promote and protect the interests of patients, streamline regulation and promote transparency in health and social care research.
James Lind Alliance: Priority Setting Partnerships (PSPs) enable clinicians, patients and carers to work together to identify and prioritise uncertainties about the effects of treatments that could be answered by research.
Research Governance Framework: Department of Health: outlining the principles of good governance for research carried out in England.
ScHARR Health Utilities Database (ScHARRHUD): is a free, searchable web-based resource. The database holds bibliographic details of studies reporting health state utility values (HSUVs).
ScHARR open learning: ScHARR runs FREE open learning courses which anyone can register for. The courses take the form of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and are available via the Open University's Futurelearn website.

NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN): provides the infrastructure that allows high quality clinical research to take place in the NHS. CRN Yorkshire and Humber is hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
NIHR Clinical Trials Guide with information to support individuals interested in pursuing a research career that involves the delivery of clinical trials.
NIHR Evidence: critically appraises the latest health research from both within the NIHR and other research organisations to identify the most reliable, relevant and significant findings.
